Hope UCC is an Open and Affirming (ONA) Congregation!
Last month we held our Open and Affirming (ONA) congregational vote by mail-in ballot due to the suspension of in person worship. The votes came in – thank you for your wonderful response! On June 25, at their monthly Church Council meeting, our Council ratified the vote: 93 yes votes to accept the ONA Covenant and become an ONA congregation with 6 no votes. With the congregational adoption and affirmation of the following covenant, Hope UCC is officially what we have always known ourselves to be: a congregation who welcomes into life and leadership all of God’s children as they are created - an Open and Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ:
Hope United Church of Christ invites and welcomes into our faith community persons of every ability, age, race, nationality, economic and social status, faith background, marital standing, family structure, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. We commit ourselves to the ongoing work of being an ONA (Open and Affirming) congregation – one that lives out the belief that God is still speaking. With God’s grace, we journey together in Christian faith.

The United Church of Christ has a vision of a just world for all. In this world all are welcomed, everyone is loved and justice is inherent. 3 Great Loves is our denomination’s opportunity to live out our Love of God and vision of a just world for all and express how our Love of Neighbor, Love of Children, and Love of Creation work together to address the inequities in our current world.
Hope United Church of Christ is a different kind of church,
We welcome all people,
No matter who you are,
Or where you are on life's journey,
You're welcome here.
Hope United Church of Christ is a congregation of people
Who believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior,
and as each member brings a unique, personal,
and individual understanding of what faith means,
it is our responsibility as the Body of Christ,
the Church, to be in harmony with
Christ’s teaching of love for our neighbor.
